Good article, thank you. I agree that developing an online branding presence that speaks the company's business objectives and engages its market requires more strategy than people usually think. That strategy involves research, planning and goals that are tied to the company's objectives.

@ Internetor. You are right of course. The process we call take out analysis can be applied to any medium. You can use when you are planning to make phone call, design a print ad, etc etc.
My brief for this blog is e-marketing so naturally I will always take people down the e-road but yes many e-rules can be applied to the "real world" too.
