Former finance minister teams up with failed real estate businessman
11.11.2011, 10:00Ex-finance minister Mart Opmann shares an investment firm with an Estonian real estate businessman Swen Uusjärv in the company SwizzBankers that is looking for investors capable of investing between 30,000 and 250,000 euros for one to three years at an annual return of between 12 and 25%.
Uusjärv was a successful real estate businessman during the real estate boom, but his companies and Uusjärv personally who guaranteed the loans now own banks at least 6 million euros.
In 2004 Uusjärv founded Baltic Real Estate Investment Centre that developed large housing estates in Hiiumaa, Saaremaa, Rae municipality and elsewhere in Estonia, but is now bankrupt.
