Lithuania working on Baltic Sea LNG terminal budget
08.09.2010, 10:00Lithuania is studying the location and budget for a liquefied natural gas terminal, the country's energy minister Arvydas Sekmokas said this week at a seminar in Brussels.
“At least now we’re estimating location, most likely Klaipeda, and we’re estimating what should be the budget for it,” he said. “We decided we should move ahead on our own, not to have long discussions with other shareholders. We should aim to build it on our own, from our own financial sources. We’re estimating the costs.”
Lithuanian government hopes to attract investors for a liquefied natural gas terminal on the Baltic Sea. Klaipedos Nafta AB, Lithuania’s state-controlled oil-products terminal, would build the LNG project.
