Ministry: registered unemployment has been falling for 5 months

As of this morning, Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund had 72,132 people registered as unemployed. This is 1,130 people less than a week before and is equal to 11.1%, writes aripaev.ee with reference to the Estonian ministry of social affairs.

According to the ministry, registered unemployment has been falling for five months in a row and during the time, the number of registered unemployed has fallen by 23,000 people.

The level was highest on March 25 when 95,244 people were in the register as unemployed and the registered unemployment rate was 14.6%.

In five months, registered unemployment rate has fallen by 3.5%.

As of September 2, the Fund had 2,387 vacancies, the vast majority of them in Estonia. The biggest vacancy is for sewing machine operators, bus drivers, sales representatives and consultants, truck drivers and construction workers.
