International Cricket Council gave EEK 600,000& for developing cricket in Estonia

Estonian cricket team who won the Eastern European Cricket Championships in Wales was accepted to the International Cricket Council. The council allocated EEK 600,000 for developing cricket in Estonia.

The team, which includes players with different nationalities living in Estonia, said they also hope on the contribution of Estonian Olympic Committee or the government, postimees.ee writes.

The aim is to attract younger Estonians and to develop cricket into a serious sport in Estonia, Australian Tim Heath, the captain of the team, said.

Sorry Andy, but the goal of the Estonian Cricket Association is to bring more and more young Estonians into enjoying cricket. Now with our European success and the support of the International Cricket Council this is a real opportunity for Estonia to expand its reputation and success in yet another field of sporting activity. If anyone is interested check our web site www.estoniancricket.com and we are happy to introduce and offer training to anyone young or old at our Hippodrome ground. For those who want to continue after the summer season we also have an active winter indoor program.

It is a great pleasure to know that cricket is being played in Estonia. With many nationalities mixed which throws a light that all races of people can live and get along well. I am an Estonian and for the past 1 year following your forum and i would like to congratulate for this magnificant win. I wish you that the team moves from strength to strenght. Estonia to sell quota
for a billion kroons

Estonian ministry of environmental affairs has approved draft agreement to sell spare emission allowances to Spain for 688 million kroons and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. for an unspecified price, according to a statement on the ministry’s website, reported Bloomberg.

June retail sales
fell 7% in a year

Retail sales volume decreased 7% at constant prices in June year on year. According to Statistics Estonia, retail sales have been declining during the whole year in annual terms: in January retail sales decreased 12%, in February 11%, in March and April 9% and in May 5% compared to the respective months a year ago.

airBaltic may expand its taxi service into Estonia

In the first six months, there were 19,002 real estate transactions in Estonia worth 9.83 billion kroons. A year earlier, the figures were 18,914 and 11 billion kroons.

Exports up 38%, imports 47% in May
