Estonia's transition to digital broadcasting begins from Ruhnu island where the first analogue television will be switched off.

Until 31 March, people of Ruhnu Island can see analogue television, writes local newspaper Meie Maa. From April 1st, only digital television will spread on the island. According to Indrek Lepa, CEO of AS Levira, decision was made because the transition is easier to implement on a small island.

People of Ruhnu got one free digital appliances per house holding from Eesti Digitaaltelevisioon AS in the end of February.
