State Court: internet site is responsible for published comments
10.06.2009, 12:05 The State Court found internet site Delfi
guilty for publishing inappropriate comments against businessman Vjatšešlav
Leedo, aripaev.ee reports.
On January 24, 2006 Delfi published an article “SLK lõhkus plaanitava
jäätrassi” (“SLK broke planned ice bridge”) and it collected 185 comments. Some
of them were insulting Leedo’s dignity and good name. He added 20 of these
comments to that action.
Delfi removed comments after Leedos’s letter from March 9, 2006. On April 17,
2006 Vjatšeslav Leedo filed an action against Delfi for causing non-material
damage.
Delfi has to pay EEK 5000.
