NASDAQ OMX Tallinn index down 9.1% in one quarter

The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn index (OMXT), which rose sharply in January and early April of this year, experienced a downturn in mid-April, falling to 519.95 points by the end of June. Compared to the end of the previous quarter, the index has fallen 9.1%; however, it has risen 28.5% since the beginning of the year. Compared to the same date last year, there has been an increase of 73.7%, says NASDAQ OMX Tallinn in its quarterly commentary.

Two Estonian companies conducted public offerings of their shares. Investors invested over 300 million kroons in shares of Premia Foods and Ekspress Grupp. 

During the quarter, Premia Foods concluded a 203 million kroon IPO and Ekspress Grupp underwent secondary public offering of shares.

As a result of the takeover bid by Automotive Holding, part of the Autoliv Group, Norma was delisted from July 1.

During the second quarter, the share prices of 15 companies dropped, while for three companies – Järvevana, Arco Vara and Baltika by more than 15%. Only the share price of Silvano Fashion Group rose slightly.

The admission of Premia Foods to Tallinn Stock Exchange increased the aggregate market value of publicly traded companies by EEK 34 million; however, Norma’s departure brought it down by nearly EEK 77 million.
