Estonia 21st among EU27 by GDP per capita
21.06.2012, 09:48Estonia’s GDP per capita was 67 percent of the EU average last year, placing the nation 21st – one spot higher than in 2010, according to Eurostat.
The statistics show that Estonia’s GDP per capita has surpassed Hungary’s figure, which was 66 percent of the EU average.
Lithuania and Latvia placed 24th and 25th, respectively.
The richest country in the EU was Luxembourg (274 percent of the EU average) followed by the Netherlands (131 percent), Austria (129 percent), Ireland (127 percent) and Sweden (126 percent).
The bottom of the rankings was occupied by Romania and Bulgaria. Their GDP per capita stood at 49 and 45 percent of the EU average, respectively.
