Fear not, it will go down to 0% once the euro arrives. answer
~Count of Monte Kopli [03.02.2010, 20:20]
Woohaaa, good morning to you too Count. Thanks for the reassurance.
~Fons [04.02.2010, 08:30]
It isn't 20-25 per cent for autumn 2009 as so many predicted.
~Yeah, right [04.02.2010, 09:52]
13 January:

"Vitsur added that based on the data of the Unemployment Insurance Fund which show that about 2,500 people registered as unemployed every week, Estonia's unemployment rate must be over 20% already now."

"BBN reported last week that also Mart Laar, chairman of IRL that shares power with Reform Party, believes that growing unemployment could become an obstacle for Estonia's entry to the euro zone."

Heido and Mart are obviously mentally ill not understanding scientific evidence of the unemployment situation. A mental hospital in Siberia could possibly cure them.

There are different types of straightening iron hair stylers available out there in the market for sale. Those available in the GHD range are unquestionably the best hair straighteners. They have emerged as the staple of the beauty market because of the tremendous features and amazing results that they have to offer. The best thing about them is that they are not only easy to use, but they are also incredibly reliable

Chi flat iron are a very popular choice of hair straightener. The Farouk CHI flat iron was the first to have ceramic plates, making it a best seller. But are today’s CHI flat irons any good or have they been eclipsed by other brands of flat iron? You can still buy the original CHI ceramic flat iron. It’s the cheapest model in the CHI range and falls into the medium priced category for flat irons. It comes with 1″ ceramic plates, heats in seconds and is still a very good hair styling tool. answer

For the real unemployment eurostat is the best source, also for cross-country comparison because they use the same measurement for all countries. Unfortunately they still didn't get Estonia's numbers from oktober, november and december. Anyway eurostat estimates are usually higher than the numbers that the estonian government itself refers to. answer

I dont think that "growing unemployment could become an obstacle for Estonia's entry to the euro zone" since it is not measured or any objective for euro entrance, but certainly a further growing unemployment is a problem for Estonia itself.

It should be understood that with the current, but constant deployment rate, the expectations of fiscal revenue must be reduced that leads to further state budget cuts that leads to even further deployment directly, and indirectly through lower consumer power. answer

"IT-business here in Estonia is hireing like hell"

Fully untrue! And Barclays is investing into Lithuania, the only one that "is hiring like hell".

Also: Name me anything innovative in IT that is "Made in Estonia" in the last two, three years.

Because I honestly don't know about anything innovative I've recently seen over here... answer
~knut albers [23.02.2010, 21:32]
As an IT specialist, Knut you are 100% correct. Estonian IT market is small, tiny, and they are only hiring people who are qualified. We gave up on the market 3 years ago due to the lack of innovation.

Data processors and Data Base managers at best. If we could find a company that did something new here, we would jump in an instant. But CMS- no. A new website - come on. It is sad... it started so well and ended so mediocre.
~True [23.02.2010, 22:06]
Let's see. Maybe one day the innovation comes back as Estonia used to stand for until few years ago, but my guess is that it won't be THAT soon as GDP is not expected to grow in this decade anymore anyway.

At the moment, in my opinion the E-stonia brand is battered.

Which is sad :S
