Lithuanian PM- Eesti Energia discuss plan to build new nuclear power station02.12.2005, 14:23
Sandor Liive who took over as chairman of Estonian state utility Eesti Energia met with Lithuanian PM Algirdas Brazauskas in Tallinn yesterday.
Although nothing was signed- both parties said that they shared mutual interest in the plan to build a new nuclear power station in Lithuania.
There have been renewed signs of support from Estonia for a new nuclear plant in Lithuania.
The new chairman of Eesti Energia- Sandor Liive- will fly to Vilnius today to discuss technical conditions for the project.
Eesti Energia has made no secret that after it failed to privatise Lithuanian power grid RTS and to merge with Latvian state power utlity Latvenergo it has been looking for new projects in the Baltics.
