Development Fund: Estonian start-ups valued by venture capitalists

Heidi Kakko, head of investments of Estonian Development Fund, writes in Äripäev that Estonia has in recent years built up a strong image as a hotbed for start-up companies.

"In the eyes of some of the world’s largest venture capital firms, Estonia has an unproportional number of high-quality start-up companies. For instance, recently one Estonian start-up, GrabCAD which is co-owned by the Development Fund, raised one of the largest investments in Estonia’s history from the leading US venture capitalists in the amount of four million US dollars. We also have other successful examples such as Erply, Guaretime, Fits.me that are being targeted by the world’s leading venture capitalists," Kakko wrote in Äripäev.
